Boat Dives on Kauai...
Sheraton Caverns:
The Signature dive site of
Kaua'i. A must dive!
20 to 65 feet, beginner to advanced divers.
Sheraton Caverns is on the south shore of Kaua'i
just west of Poipu.
Ancient blown-out lava tubes now consisting of
gorgeous archways and
overhangs is also the home to many of our Hawaiian
Green Sea Turtles.
Large
whitemouth moray eels, conger eels, octopus,
frogfish, spiny and slipper
lobsters, shrimp, and a variety of Hawaiian reef
fish all reside at this
dive site. It's a dive you won't soon forget!
Brennecke's
Ledge:
A lava shelf on the southeast shore of Kaua'i just east of Poipu.
60 to 85 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
It extends for several miles
parallel to shore and has
a wall which drops to 90 feet. Large branches of
black coral, long-nosed
hawkfish hiding amoungst the black coral hang from
the may overhangs.
Large
schools of Ta'ape, turtles, cowries, lobsters,
moray eels and a resident
white tip reef shark also grace this dive site.
On top of the reef there
are lots of cauliflower coral, octopus, and a variety
of reef fish.
Nukomoi Point:
Also known as Tortugas.
30 to 60 feet, good shallow dive for beginning through advances divers.
Home of many green sea turtles, lots of Moray eels, horned helmet shells, and a great site to find Octopus. Good shallow dive for beginning through advanced divers.
Stonehouse:
30 to 65 feet, great site for novice to advanced divers.
Named after a house that was destroyed by hurricane Iniki. You can still see some remnants of coral encrusted lawn furniture that was deposited at this dive site. Pennant and milletseed butterflies, frogfish, yellow margin moray eels, pincushion sea stars and others can be found at this site.
Ice Box:
65 to 85 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
Three fingered reef with Occasional white tip reef sharks, whiskered boarfish, and large schools of sea life.
Fast Lanes:
50 to 90 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
Feather black coral, Long nose hawkfish, pyramid butterflies, white tip reef sharks, porcupine puffers, and large schools of surgeonfish can be found at this dive site.
Fish Bowls:
50 to 85 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
Huge schools of blue striped snapper, occasional schools of Hellers barracuda, and white tip reef sharks.
Turtle
Bluffs:
60 to 90 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
You'll finda little bit of everything,
trees of black coral,
intriguing rock formations teeming with marine
life. Sea turtles being
cleaned at the turtle cleaning station, sharks
hiding under ledges and the
ocassional manta ray.
General Store:
A shipwreck from the 1800's!
50 to 90 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
A few remnants of a shipwreck from the late 1800s... Swim throughs with black coral bushes and Long nose hawkfish. White tip reef sharks and bandit angelfish can usually be seen at this site.
Zacks Pocket:
60 to 100 feet, advanced divers.
One of our deepest south shore dive sites. A good chance of seeing large jacks, the rare Hawaiian Morwong, and white tip reef sharks. We have even had a few swim-bys by the Hawaiian humpback whale at this site.
Ambers Arches:
45 to 75 feet, intermediate to advanced divers.
Turtles, Bi color Anthias, white tip reef sharks, domino damsels, and the occaisonal Large jack can be found at this site.
Boat Dives on Niihau...
Vertical Awareness:
50 to 130 feet, advanced divers
Sheer walls with huge schools of butterflies, longfin anthias, grey reef sharks, Lionfish, the occaisonal manta or spotted eagle ray, a good chance of seeing large game fish swimming by, and usually an endangered Hawaiian monk seal will join us on this dive. This is one of the best dives in the whole island chain.
Keyhole:
35 to 70 feet, advanced divers
Drift dive – orange cup coral, grey reef sharks, large schools of jacks, Lobster, and at the end of this drift, the coral gardens, an enormous field of dense leather coral, one of the only soft corals found in Hawaii.
Niihau Arches:
35 to 70 feet, advanced divers
Arches, swim throughs and large caves. Moray eels, tiger cowries, Lobster, collector crabs, and soldierfish are just a few of what we see on this dive. Bring a light on this one as some of this caves are very large.
Lehua Ledge:
20 to 130 feet, advanced divers
Black coral bushes, long nose hawkfish, sharks, nudibranchs, Lobster, Monk seals, and a good chance of seeing the rare Tinkers butterfly.
Pyramid point/ Neon cave:
25 to 90 feet, advanced divers
Reef sharks, jacks, milletseed butterflies, lobster, and octopus can usually be seen on this dive.
Shore Dives on Kauai...
Koloa Landing:
5 to 50 feet, beginner to intermediate divers
A horseshoe shape bay, excellent for scuba diving or advanced snorkeling. This is the site we use for certification classes. Easy navigation on the right or left side. Turtles, Moray eels, and large schools of fish.
Ahukini Landing:
10 to 60 feet, beginner to intermediate divers
Alternate dive site for south swell conditions. Be careful entering, this one is over the rocks on the inside of the jetty. Conditions best outside the jetty. Old ammunition dump, turtles and lobster. Located near the Lihue airport.
Tunnels:
5 to 60 feet, beginner to advanced divers
Premiere North Shore dive site, (Seasport Divers does not conduct dives at this site) this site is not accessible in high northwest swell conditions. Very shallow initially but drops to 60 feet. Over the drop you will find the entrances to the tunnels. They should be entered only on scuba and with proper training and supervision. Great summer location for snorkeling and diving. Located 9/10 of a mile past the 8 mile marker on Kuhio Highway. Limited parking.
